Instructions for Testing Cement Slurry Preparation
- Initial Setup:
- Ensure all mechanical and electrical switches are in the closed position before beginning the test.
- Prepare cement and water according to GB10238-88 and API Specification 10 for cement slurry preparation.
- Coat the internal surfaces, threads, and blades of the slurry cup with petroleum jelly, ensuring proper assembly.
- Temperature Adjustment:
- If the kettle’s temperature is below 27°C, manually warm it up to reach 27°C.
- Slurry Mixing:
- Prepare the cement slurry using a constant speed mixer, and quickly pour it into the slurry cup before securing the screw plug.
- Use a hook to hang the two holes of the slurry cup lids, place the slurry cup on the platform in the kettle, and turn on the motor switch. The slurry cup should remain stable without significant shaking; adjust the installation if necessary.
- Measurement Setup:
- Insert the potentiometer into the kettle, ensuring the shaft of the slurry cup is properly inserted into the potentiometer’s universal bearing hole. The digital voltmeter should display the initial consistency.
- Secure the kettle cover with hand screws. After tightening, loosen the cover slightly (about 30 degrees) for easier disassembly.
- Electrical and Pressure Adjustments:
- Insert the electrical couple into the kettle and loosely screw the lock nut.
- Turn on the gas source. Once the kettle is full of oil and it begins to overflow from the lock nut, quickly tighten the lock nut.
- Operate the pump and booster pump according to code requirements. When the pressure gauge reaches the required initial pressure, turn off the pump switch.
- Temperature and Alarm Setup:
- Set the temperature regulator’s warming program and activate the alarm switch, ensuring it sounds when the desired consistency is reached.
- Turn on the recorder switch. For automatic shutdown, move the automatic stop switch on the back of the instrument panel to the “open” position after the recorder is operating normally, and return it to “close” after the experiment for the next startup.
- Final Steps:
- Turn on the meter switch to begin timing.
