Description

Anti-sludge Agent

Introduction

used to prevent the formation of sludge during the acid stimulation. Hydrocarbons inside the formation have a great tendency to form sludge when they come in contact with live or spent acids. By having excellent surface tension reduction capability and superb wetting properties can be used in both sandstone and carbonate acidizing operations to eliminate any problem related to sludge formation.

Applications

During acidizing operations, HCl and HCl mixtures react with the formation’s hydrocarbons to form a thick and asphaltenic sludge which blocks formation permeability. blocks the formation of sludge by: water wetting (decreasing the interfacial and surface tensions) the solids and formation to help acid react quickly and destabilizing the colloidal constituents inherent in the acid/oil mixture.

Benefits

  • prevents the formation of sludge
  • has excellent surface tension-reducing and water-wetting capability
  • is compatible with different acid mixtures
  • has a strong non-emulsifying capability
