Description
Iron Control Agent
Introduction
Iron Control Agent that prevents the re-precipitation of iron compounds during the acidizing procedure by maintaining iron cations in solution. a mixture of very powerful iron-complexing/chelating agents. During acid stimulation, iron rust and scale are deposited in the wellbore and at the formation face, therefore using an Iron control agent is critical to control these phenomena. is an excellent Iron Control agent that is required in all acid stimulations.
Applications
Fe 3+ ions starts to precipitate as the acid is spend and pH goes above 1.2. One way to maintain Fe 3+ in solution is using iron complexing agents that will form an acid soluble complex with ferric ions therefore preventing their precipitation. inhibits solid’s precipitation as the acid is spent and the pH is increased. prevents iron compounds from precipitating by keeping iron cations in solution at all pH values.
Benefits
- prevents the precipitation of ferric iron compounds effectively
- may be used during pickling to remove iron deposits and debris from the tubing prior to acid stimulation
- may be used in sour wells to prevent the formation of iron sulfide
- may be used for both oil-producing and gas-producing wells
