Description
Permanent Clay Stabilizer
Introduction
used to prevent migration and/or swelling of clays during and after an acid treatment. During well stimulation process aqueous-based fluids can result in swelling of clay particles and therefore disrupt the flow of hydrocarbons by reducing formation permeability. In an oil and gas producing formation swelling clays not only reduce porosity of the formation but also reduce formation permeability by peeling off the pore surfaces and plugging pore throats. prevents the swelling of clays and therefore guarantees excellent retention of formation permeability.
Application
- significantly reduces the hydration of clay
- prevents clay swelling by absorbing onto the surface of clays where it competes with water molecules for clay reactive sites and thus serve to reduce clay swelling
- prevents formation permeability damage caused by clay swelling and transition
