Description

Bench-top HTHP Consistometer

Model: PEP-7716/7720

The Model PEP-7716/7720  Bench-Top Consistometer enables mobile and remote cement testing laboratories with very limited space to perform the fundamentally necessary testing of cement thickening time. This instrument is capable of testing cement thickening behavior by most API Spec 10A testing schedules.

The unit’s functional, compact design is made possible by the use of high-strength alloys in the pressure vessel. The rotating slurry container is equipped with rotational paddle assembly per API Specification. The pressure vessel is capable of withstanding the high pressures and temperatures to run tests by most API Spec 10 schedules. The PEP-7716 and PEP-7720 are designed to be versatile and extremely accurate. They can be used in remote field locations, mobile labs, and offshore platforms where space is limited. This small, rugged instrument employs many of the design features of our full-sized consistometers to provide years of reliable service.

Bench-Top Consistometers Model PEP-7716/7720 are specifically designed to measure the thickening time of cement slurries in strict accordance with API 10 specification. The units can be used to prepare slurries to measure free water content, viscosity, fluid loss, and rheological properties.

The Consistometer can be used to measure temperature and pressure by API 10 specification’s recommended data or required data. The slurry cap is rotated at a constant speed of 150 rpm to circulate the slurry. They are supplied with a magnetic drive for the rotational drive of the slurry cup as standard equipment.

The Model PEP-7716/7720 Bench-Top Consistometer is simple to operate with all of the operational controls conveniently located on the front panel alongside visible indications of thickening time, pressure, and temperature. The slurry cup is designed so that closure, heating, and pressurization can be achieved quickly. The programmable temperature controller accurately controls the rate of temperature rise of the slurry. Throughout the test, the built-in chart recorder tracks the temperature and cement consistency. Once the user-set consistency is reached, an alarm will sound to alert the operator when the test is completed.

The operation can be further simplified by the addition of the optional Model PEP-5270 Data Acquisition and Control System which consists of interface electronics and custom software. To maximize system reliability, the software is purposefully designed to run on a stand-alone computer.
