The most important function of oil & gas well primary cementing is to isolate the various zones within the wellbore.
In others words, the cement must prevent fluids or gases in one particular zone from mingling with those of another. A properly designed and placed cement slurry accomplishes this by creating the necessary seal between the casing and the formation. The cement must prevent migration or fluid channeling throughout the cement.
Today’s well cement systems must perform in a variety of down hole conditions, from 0 °C – over 350 °C., and at bottom hole pressures in excess of 30,000 psi.
PEPCO has developed a complete line of cement additives, which modify the characteristics and performance of the cement slurry. This means that a slurry can be designed to function over the wide range of conditions that occur in the wellbore.

Addens-500

Addens-500 weight additive is based on MICROMAX weighting material that has been treated and pelletized to enhance the bulk flowing properties. It is comprised mostly of hausmannite ore an ultra-fine, reddish-brown powder with a specific gravity ranging from 4.7 to 4.9. Addens-500 additive is extremely free-flowing, with an undetectable pack set index (PSI). This greatly improves the transfer and handling of dry blended material.Addens-500 weight additive was designed for improved bulk handling and transfer rates and is therefore suitable for offshore use as well as land applications. Addens-500 weight additive can be used at bottom-hole circulating temperatures (BHCTs) between 80° and 500°F (27° to 260°C). Additive concentrations depend on the required slurry weight for individual wells.
